Back in early November, I hiked the Devil’s Den Trail (the cave trail) again at Devil’s Den State Park.

Twin Falls on Devil's Den Trail
The Devil’s Den Trail is one of the most-popular trails in Arkansas. It is the best way to see many of the cave and rock features that make Devil’s Den State Park unique.
This 1.3-mile loop is easy-to-moderate with only one significant uphill climb.
More below after the jump.

Rock Formations on Devil's Den Trail
You should keep very close tabs on small children as there are a few hazardous drop-offs without guardrails. If you feel brave, you can go inside Devil’s Den Cave.
The map below is from the official Arkansas State Park Devil’s Den website.
As usual, I have posted some of my photos and a gpx map made from my gps data. (The gpx file only includes the outer loop and begins at the trailhead by the visitor center.)

My husband and I took an anniversary trip on 9/25/2010 to Devil’s Den and Petit Jean State Park, we also did a drive-through at Mt. Nebo on the way home. We took the trailhead behind the visitor’s center which is descending (the other trailhead by the bridge has very steep steps going up toward the visitor’s center.) Both Devil’s Den and the Icebox caves were closed due to white nose fungus making its way west from the eastern states. Nice little hike with enough terrain to make for a nice little appetite later.
